Middie Blythe…

Is the cutest of all the Blythe types. My little Middie Scout? Absolutely adore her. She’s so precious.

I knit her a hat – my first one for Middie, and stitched up a dress for her – also my first. Both without patterns! I think they look pretty ok!

She’s like a little mustard-colored dream. : )

Things that make a Saturday fabulous.

Hi, interwebz! Long-time-no-see. How you been? I’ve been faaabulous.

While I’ve enjoyed my break from the social circles a tremendous amount, I figured I should pop back in before I forgot how – tehehehe!

Some aspects of a fabulous Saturday, courtesy of some Instagrammed photos:

I saw the trailer for “Beautiful Creatures” and felt like I just HAD to read the book. It looks really good, so we’ll see. I almost bought it on Matt’s Kindle Fire last night but I just can’t get over NOT having a book in my hands to read. Technology-smechnology.

I also bought some new nail polish when I bought my book. Glitter? Obviously excited about that. Painting my nails is like relaxation therapy for little ol’ me.

Lindt Lindor white chocolate truffles. Need I say more?

I told Matt, everyone has a candy – and these most certainly are MINE.

FABRIC! This includes the adorable pink Paul Frank fabric in the background. I am hoping to sew some clothes for dear little Scout (my Middie Blythe) sometime soon. These tiny prints should work.

Speaking of Scout – how cute IS my Middie Blythe? Cutest little dolly face ever!

I’m also planning on making a mobile to hang above the baby’s crib. We never bought him one, not that it has mattered much (since he sleeps in his bed in our room). I’m hoping a one-0f-a-kind mobile just for him will be what he needs to sleep in his bed when the time comes.

And since I mentioned my baby…how beautiful is this little face? I make a lot of things, but nothing I’ve made (or will ever make) can compare to this one. I love this little man more than I could ever express in a measly blog post. He is my entire world, and his mommy and daddy are very lucky to be his parents.

CLEARANCE RACK TOYS!

I didn’t do much (if any) post-Christmas shopping, but tonight I went out to get a few things and managed to snag all of these gems! The Furuta Princess Zelda?! The Tokidoki Cactus Pups!? Princess Celestia?! OX!? THE TINY PIKACHU!? I was so excited to find each and every one of these treasures. So excited that I called Matt from the car to excitedly tell him I had found the motherload and I was practically euphoric with excitement. And the best part? THEY WERE ALL ON SUPER CLEARANCE. I’m talking a dollar or two for each of them.

I may have to go back to snag the two remaining Cactus Pups that I’m missing!

So, blog friends – I’m not dead, life has been terrific and I’m glad I popped back in to share! I’m hoping (fingers double-crossed) to get some time to craft here soon – I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t going a bit crazy not getting any time to create at least a little something. Football is on tomorrow and I don’t care to watch (since the Seahawks are out and I’m still crying about it), but I know baby and his daddy will do their Sunday thing and watch – so hopefully I can snag an hour or two then!

I hope 2013 has been kind to you too! Au revoir!

The final Danbo.

Mr. Danbo wanted to say goodbye in style, as he is going on vacation for an undetermined amount of time. He sends his hugs and kisses to all of you!

*Thank you SO much to everyone who followed me throughout my 366 days of Danbo this year! I think all things considered (moving, having a baby…HAVING A BABY!!!) I did pretty okay! Not every photo was a winning shot, but there are a couple I am quite proud of if I do say so myself. I am just really happy to have succeeded in my very first year-long project! I’m kind of over the moon with pride right now…and a little lost feeling that it’s over. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t feeling a bit sentimental and sad when I retired Mr. Danbo to the toy shelf tonight.

I don’t see another 365 in my future (or at least the near future), but I will continue posting toy photos as much as I can (I do have a little one, remember?) After all, photographing little things in this big world of ours is one of my favorite things to do. : )

Happy New Year, friends! May 2013 be packed full of joy, creativity, inspiration and imagination. <3

Mr. Danbo is still angry that I forgot about him yesterday. I have apologized many times, but he just won’t get over it.

Mr. Danbo and his new friends wish everyone a belated Merry Christmas! We hope your holiday was filled with wonder and cheer!

I know, this is a whole day late. After 359 days of Danbo I finally, truly, missed one, and I’m pretty upset about it.

You would think after the crazy 2012 I’ve had I’d be able to make it to the end (I’ve made it this far, right?) – but last night I got HORRIBLY sick. I’m talking worse than I ever was in nine months of being pregnant sick. It was absolutely wretched.

We enjoyed a fantastic Christmas weekend away at Matt’s parent’s house and returned home late Monday afternoon to beat the bad weather and enjoy our first Christmas at home as a family before having to return to work on Wednesday. I made a ham for dinner Monday night and Tuesday we enjoyed a perfect day…until about 6:00 p.m. when my stomach really started bothering me, which is abnormal. I’m not sure if it was some stomach bug that’s going around or the leftover ham that I ate for lunch (I’m leaning toward the ham and food poisoning), but I proceeded to spend the next 20 hours vomiting violently, another thing I NEVER do. It was so pathetic and horrible.

Poor Matt – he spent last night cleaning up after me, the baby (who always spits up) and the dog (who had decided he wanted to jump in on the fun). But, as always, my husband was the amazing man he always is and took care of me. I am very thankful for him, and for my little boy who cheered me up today when I was feeling particularly ghastly. Babies are amazing little spirits like that. Thankfully, I think the worst has passed, so tomorrow we will resume our regularly scheduled program.
